released 2018, young money/cash money records.
Yesterday, Nicki dropped a two punch combo on us after a short time away from releasing. The rap/pop stratosphere has changed fairly quickly since “The Pinkprint” was dropped back in 2014, and with the meteoric monopoly Cardi B seems to have on radio and our pop culture, i’m glad to see that Nicki has returned with a fire lit under her fantastic booty!
I’m writing about Chun-Li over Barbie Tingz today, as while I enjoyed both, Chun-Li is the immediate winner of the two, with its fierce beat and quickfire raps that signal a return to form for Ms. Minaj that I can definitely vibe with. Let’s be real here, a track namedropping an iconic video game character is going to equally be as iconic.
This is simply the hardest and rawest track she’s dropped since Beez in the Trap.
Don’t let it pass you by, or else Chun might come find you!
Chun-Li is available on Apple Music and Spotify.
