Katy Perry’s had a relatively weak few years of activity. Her latest album “Witness” failed to garner the sales and popularity of previous releases “Prism” and the massive “Teenage Dream”, with an even weaker run of singles that contrasted her previous streak of high quality, chart topping releases.
Now we’re in the midst of summer 2019, and “Never Really Over” is here to reclaim Katy’s former glory, with its dazzling production by none other than Zedd (who I felt was starting to get a little contrived after basic bitch hits “Stay” and “The Middle”). “Never Really Over” is a return to form for both producer and artist, one that’s going to stay in my head for weeks to come, if not completely due to the hypnotic deluge of words that make up its delightfully memorable chorus.
Who would have thought i’d be hyped for a new Katy Perry record?
